Hi - I like your mount - but I think mine is better! I made mine out of Polymorph (a polycaprolactone polymer that melts in hot water and is easy to mould by hand). Polymorph can be easily formed around your mobile device while it is hot - let it get cold and it contracts slightly and lifts off any hard surface without difficulty - so you can create all kinds of shapes designed to grip your handlebars and mobile device.
Maybe the Crayola stuff is rubbery and works as a slight cushion? I must have a look and give it a try.

The major benefit I found with using Model Magic is that, unlike plastics, you don't need to deal with any mechanical tools, clamps, screws, etc.

Because the soft, rubbery composition grips well, and also shrinks a bit upon drying, for a nice snug fit to the handlebars, as well as the mobile phone.

Also unlike plastic derivatives, Model Magic is more eco-friendly. ;)
